RNC Launches TV Ad On The State Of Our Union Under Obama

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) launched a new television ad “State of Our Union” to coincide with President Obama’s State of the Union address tonight. The ad displays the nation’s economic struggles—13 million unemployed and 49 million in poverty—that are a direct result of Barack Obama’s failed leadership. It is being aired in Washington, DC as well as North Carolina, Virginia and Michigan, key battleground states where Barack Obama is on the defensive after three years of failed promises.

“Barack Obama has a lot of a explaining to do in tonight’s State of the Union address,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “One year ago, he stood before the American people and promised he would tackle the housing crisis, rampant joblessness and get our economy back on track. But one year later, it’s more than clear that his sole priority is getting reelected.”

“The day after he delivers his State of the Union address, Barack Obama will be jetting off to five states he wants to win to be reelected. Instead of more words and empty promises, the American people need a president who will focus on the single most important issue in the country: fixing our economy. It’s time we elect a president who puts good-paying American jobs above his own.”

Governor Perdue wants to raise our taxes!

What Gov. Perdue isn’t telling North Carolinians is that the General Assembly FULLY funded schools this year. Why would she think that a recession is a GOOD time to raise taxes on hard working families? Further, why would she think any citizen would trust that any monies would only go to the schools? Remember how the “education” lottery was supposed to be a fix for education funding?

It’s a good thing November 2012 isn’t too far away! We need real leadership in the governor’s mansion. Bev Perdue is out of touch and making things WORSE in NC.

Our guest speaker this month is Mary Frances Forrester. Much respected as a parliamentarian and a long-time Republican activist, Mary Frances Forrester has given decades of service to the NC Republican Party. Her late husband, Senator James Forrester, was an ardent supporter of conservative family values and fought for years to get a constitutional amendment protecting marriage as between one man and one woman in North Carolina. Mary Frances knows well the battles we will be facing in 2012. Come hear her speak and bring a friend.

11th Congressional District Debate

Burke County Republican Party Announces it will be hosting a candidate debate for the 11th Congressional District on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the City of Morganton Municipal Auditorium (CoMMA). The auditorium will be open to the public at 6:00 p.m. for a pre-debate reception with the candidates. The debate will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end by 9:00 p.m.

As we get closer to the debate, more details will be available including which candidates will be attending. For now — Save the date on your calendar! Attendance will be free. Refreshments will be available for purchase during the reception.
